By IANSlife New Delhi, Nov 29, (IANSlife).With the aim to examine the many-ranging narratives as well as the very definitions that surround sculpture, Palette Art Gallery’s upcoming exhibition, 18 Dimensions – a show dedicated solely to sculptures, will highlight the important works of 18 contemporary artists who have had a significant impact in the Indian and Global art scene.
The exhibit aims to bring a seductive edge and pleasure to the visual arts, and to add a sense of pleasure to one’s life and work environment.It also demonstrates a wide range of contemporary sculpture, from the abstract to the popular.
This socio-political commentary is deeply contemplative, and thought-provoking.
The show examines a wide range of materials and methods, from casting to the modes for assemblage, as well as minimalism and conceptualism which make visible the process of making.
The exhibition features over 18 artists.It aims to present a variety of sculptural expressions, encourage viewer participation, and encourage physical engagement with artworks as the city opens up to mobility.
A selection of Mrinalini Mukherjee’s rare hemp works is one of the highlights of this show.She is known for her distinctive style and use dyed and woven hemp fiber, which was a unique material in the worlds of sculpting.
Her career spanned four decades and was a prime example of a practice that was dedicated to creating a language that was both abstract and figuration.
Opening at Bikaner House in New Delhi on 28 November 2021 and continuing until 6 December 2021
