Lucknow, Nov 30, : The Yogi Adityanath government continues its name-changing spree.
It is currently considering a proposal to name Lucknow Zoo after Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime MinisterDara Singh Chouhan, Forest Minister, stated that the government was looking into the proposal and would make a decision at the appropriate time.
In 2015, the Akhilesh government renamed the Lucknow zoo Prince of Wales Zoological Garden to Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Park.On Monday, the Zoo celebrated 100 years.
Officials stated that the naming ceremony of the zoo after Vajpayee was likely to take place on the 25th anniversary of Vajpayees birth.Each year, the zoo receives around 135,000 visitors.
The zoo covers 71 acres and is known as the life and glory capital.It is home to 102 species of birds and has 911 animals.amita/svn/dp #Lucknow.
