New Delhi, Nov 30, : .The Lok Sabha proceedings on Tuesday were halted due to protests by members of the opposition.
This was the third adjournment of the second day in the winter session.

Soon after the house was reassembled following the second adjournment at 3.30 p.m.Speaker Om Birla asked members to allow the house to function in a positive atmosphere.He allowed the laying papers while opposition members protested against the government on various topics, including the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha opposition member.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the leader of the Congress Party’s floor, responded to the appeal by the Speaker.He said that even though opposition members come to discuss and participate in proceedings, the government is not listening.

“We also came here to participate in proceedings, want to discuss important issues.It was the government that didn’t listen to the opposition.

We wanted to discuss Minimum Support Price (MSP), but the government didn’t hold any discussion and the three farm laws repeal bill was not discussed on Monday,” Chowdhury stated.

The Speaker however allowed Kiren Rijiju, Law Minister, to introduce the amendment bills to the High Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service Act, 1954) and Supreme Court Judges(Salaries and Conditions of Service Act, 1958).

Several Opposition members continued to protest in the house shouting slogans and chanting “We want Justice”.

Birla tried to intervene, saying that if the house is in order, he would be open to discussion.

However, the opposition bench continued shouting slogans and sloganeering.

In the midst of ongoing protests by members of the opposition, Speaker Om Birla adjourned to the house until Wednesday morning at 11 a.m.
