Live-action “King Kong” origin series in the beginning stages of development

Los Angeles, Aug 24 : The King Kong franchise is moving forward with live-action television series about the story of the birth of the gigantic.

The show will be a serialised drama that would focus on Kongs past and the mystery of the place he calls home, Skull Island.According to the Variety the series will be inspired by the original "King Kong" script written by Merian C.Cooper as well as novelisations written by the artist Joe DeVito produced in conjunction with Coopers estate "Variety" further declares it is Stephany Folsom, who developed the Amazon series "Paper Girls" for television who will write and direct the King Kong show.James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett will also executive produce on behalf of Atomic Monster along with Dannie Festa from World Builder Entertainment.Disney Branded Television will produce the show.

The first "King Kong" movie was premiered in 1933 and was a huge success.The character has appeared in many films to date and the most recent in the Legendary Warner Bros.Monsterverse films.
