Legendary Actress Anjali Devi Is No More

Veteran actress Anjali Devi, who starred opposite the biggest stars of her time NTR and ANR , passed away at a private hospital in Chennai today.Anjali Devi was known for her powerful portrayals in Tamil and Telugu movies and was a producer too.

She had acted in nearly 350 Telugu films and also appeared in Kannada movies.Anjali devi was born in the month of July, 1928 at Peddapuram in East Godavari District.

Anjali devi made her film debut as an actress, through Gollabhama released in the year 1947.She got enormous reputation through her goddess Sita Devi role in the industry hit movie Lavakusha Anjali Devi was married to music director P Adinarayana Rao and the couple has two sons.

Her granddaughter Saila Rao is also an actress.Irrespective of the genre and language, she has featured in about 500 films that include Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films.

Apart from being a legendary actress, she has even turned a producer and produced classics like Anarkali (1955), Bhakta Tukaram etc .Anjali was last seen in Chiranjeevis Big Boss.She was honouored with Raghgupathi Venkaiah Award in 2005.Telugustop.com extends condolences to the family of the fallen star.
