Beirut, November 18th : Riad Salameh, the Governor of Lebanons Central Bank, has refuted media claims that he had transferred public money to his brothers company.
Salameh stated in a statement, "not one penny" was taken out of public funds for fees or commissions to Forry Associates Ltd.His brothers investments and transactions have been the subject of numerous media reports.Salameh said his opponents had disseminated the false information.
Salameh claimed that his adversaries had spread the incorrect information.He said that the source of his wealth was "clear and documented," as he had been a successful private banker at Merrill Lynch for around 20 years with an annual income of about $2 million before he left that company in 1993, Xinhua news agency reported.
