K’taka targets 30 lakh Covid vaccinations in a single day

Bengaluru, Dec 8, 2008 : In the wake of the threat of Omicron, the Karnataka Health Department has set a Wednesday target to administer 30 lakh Covid vaccines in the stateThe Wednesday special drive lasted for two months.

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, (BBMP), has created 430 special teams to track the 7.66 lakh city residents who have yet to receive their first dose of Covid vaccine.It is being planned to administer vaccines in 7,000 government and 234 privately owned centres across the state.As many as 48.5 million people have yet to receive a second dose of vaccines, even though they have completed 83 days.Even though the deadline has expired, Bengalurus city has 12.4 lakh people still waiting for their second dose.These people will be contacted by the health department via mobile to request that they get their vaccinations.

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has also initiated special initiatives to reach people in the wake Omicron variant fears.To ensure maximum vaccination, the authorities have initiated a door-to-door vaccination program.Covid vaccination is available in Bengaluru for 91.8 lakh adults over the age of 18.Of these, 82,14,000.66 have received the first dose, and 63.05.263 have received the second.7.66 million people are still waiting for the first dose.BBMP has more than 430 teams that will find these people and vaccinate them.Authorities in Bengaluru have set a Wednesday target to administer 4.5 million vaccinations.mka/shb #Ktaka #targets #Covid #Gara #Karnataka #Omicron.
