K’taka: Congress leader demands that Rapists of Minor Girls be Shot

Pratibha Kulayi (Dakshina Kannada), Nov 25, : A Dakshina Kannada district Congress leader, Pratibha Kulayi has demanded that the Karnataka Police conduct an encounter against the accused in gang-rape/murder of an 8-year old girl.
Kulayi addressed the media at the office of the district Congress committee here and said that anyone who raped or throttled a minor girl to death must be punished.

“The number of heinous acts against small children is on the rise.” These maniacs need to be taught a lesson,” she said.

“Recently, a 2-year old girl was raped, and then her body was thrown in a water tank.An 8-year old girl was gang-raped, and later killed.Her body was dumped in a drain.She said that the accused should be shot.

She demanded that no advocate be appointed to represent the accused, and that they be treated in the same manner as the Hyderabad police.

“In Dakshina Kannada politicians are divided along communal lines in matters such as rape or murder.

When the crime is committed in the same religion, no one speaks up.If the victim and the accused are from different religions, they immediately react.She demanded that this attitude be disregarded and that all voices should be raised against rape cases.”

The horrific incident occurred on Sunday.The minor girl disappeared from the tile factory where her parents worked.After a frantic search, her body had been found in a drain at the factory.

The investigation revealed that the accused took the girl to a room and covered her mouth, then took turns to rape her.The accused then strangled the victim to death and dumped her body in a drain.The post-mortem report confirmed strangulation and anal sexual abuse, as well as excessive bleeding.
