Patiala : , Nov 17, : Tokyo Olympics gold-medallist Neeraj Chpra received a warm welcome upon his return to Sports Authority of Indians (SAI) NSNIS Patiala.He had been honoured with the Major Dhyan Chaud Khel Ratna award 2021. A felicitation ceremony was organised within the premises of NSNIS Patiala.NSNIS Patiala hosted a felicitation ceremony.Dronacharya awardee 2021 Radhakrishnan Nair, Neeraj’s coach Dr Klaus Bartonietz and all Olympians present at the centre were also felicitated.Dronacharya recipient 2021 Radhakrishnan Naair was felicitated, as well as Dr Klaus Bartonietz, Neeraj’s coach.
All Olympians who were present at the centre were also honored.
Neeraj shared his journey and experiences with the athletes.
Neeraj spoke about his experiences and shared them with athletes.He highlighted the role and the support of SAI in his journey.His journey was made possible by the help and support from SAI.”I came to NSNIS Patiala in 2015 and was motivated by the players and coaches.NSNIS Patiala was the place that motivated me.It feels like home to be back at NSNIS Patiala,” he said.He said that it feels like returning to NSNIS Patiala is home.
Padma Shri and Arjuna awardee Sardar Bahadur Singh was also present on the occasion.
Sardar Bahadur, a Padma Shri awardee and Arjuna winner was also there.He highlighted how NSNIS Patiala has been a pioneer in the promotion of sports and helping bring laurels to the nation.
He spoke out about how NSNIS Patiala was a leader in sports promotion and has helped bring honors to the country.
