New Delhi, Nov 28, : On Sunday, Chief Minister Arvind Kehriwal wrote to Prime Minister NarendraModi about the new Covid variant found in South Africa. Kejriwal wrote to PM Modi urging him to immediately stop all flights from the region where the new variants were detected.
“Our country has fought a hard fight against Corona over the past one-and-a half years.Arvind Kejriwal stated in the letter that we should do all possible to stop the new concern from entering India.
He said that many countries, including the European Union have suspended travel to the affected area due to the new Covid-19 version.
“We must do everything we can to stop the new type of concern, recently recognized by WHO, entering India.
Several countries, including the European Union (EU), suspended travel to the affected areas.I urge you immediately to stop all flights from these areas.He stated that any delay in this regard could prove dangerous if any affected person enters India.”
Following the Friday Technical Advisory Group meeting, the World Health Organization has designated the new Covid variant found in South Africa as the ‘Variant Of Concern’.
