Telangana state government has decided to say good bye to Dangerous Gudumba from the state.
The decision was taken by CM during high level review meeting with the officials of the excise department.
The CM directed the officials to come up with ways to put up a complete ban on the Gudumba supply.He asked the officials to explore the possibility of formulating stricter law than PD Act to punish the accused Gudumba making and supply.
KCR reminded that women are demanding for ban of the gudmba.He suggested the officials that with immediate effect Gudumba has to be banned.
Surprisingly he has asked the officials to plant 5 crore toddy trees around lakes across the State to encourage usage of Thati Kalllu in the state.KCR felt that usage of Toddy wine was high in Telangana earlier.
However, due to the wrong policies of previous rulers, toddy was replaced with ‘gudamba’ and illicit liquor; he opined.Excise Minister T Padma Rao, Principal Secretary Revenue (Excise & Commercial) Ajay Mishra, Excise Commissioner Chandravadan, Principal Secretary to CMO S Narsing Rao, Additional Secretary Shantit Kumari and other senior officials of Excise Department participated in the meeting.
