Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao has already made his intentions clear on increasing the districts on quite a few occasions earlier while addressing public meetings.
He said the existing districts are “too big” and need to be divided to create newer districts for the convenience of public and administration.
Now once again KCR hinted about bifurcation of districts in Telangana state.Speaking at a meeting on the occasion of former Telugu Desam Minister from Khammam Tummala Nageswara Rao joining TRS on Friday, KCR has expressed himself in favour of dividing Khammam district into two with Kothagudem as the other part.He said the district had a rich natural wealth and the Steel Authority of India Limited had recently approached him with an offer to invest Rs.30,000 crore in setting up a steel plant at Bayyaram."Khammam has potential to split into two districts.
Many said that i am against to Khammam district.Since Tummala has now joined TRS who is aware of each every nook and corner of district and has foothold in the region, I make sure I pay visit to Khammam hereafter.
I will pay special attention towards Khammam" KCR concluded. So, if all goes well as planned , Khammam will soon be split into two districts.
