Srinagar’s first virtual gaming area opens in Kashmir

Srinagar : , Monday 29 November 2009: The first virtual gaming area in Kashmir was opened in Srinagar’s city centre at Lal Chowk.
The Pavilion Gaming Centre at Maulana Azad Road, Lal Chowk now allows adults and kids to play together.

Adnan Shah & Aqibchaya, two young entrepreneurs, established the facility on a 4,000-square-foot area.The facility offers 30 high-end gaming experiences on console and PC, as well as alternative experiences such as bowling alleys, crazy waters, racing simulators, and 360-degree wireless VR room.

The multi-crore gaming center was a dream project for the two entrepreneurs who had established themselves in the apparel, fashion, and hospitality sectors.

Adnan Shah said, “It was our dream and we have finally inaugurated it today.”

He stated that the gaming center will help children overcome boredom caused by school closures and get them off their cellphones.

“For more than a year, children have been at home and don’t have school where other children could play.This is a dangerous trend.

“The eSports Centre will allow children to engage in physical collaboration, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship.

Shah daid that these skills will increase self-confidence and lead to better academic results.

“The Pavilion Gaming Centre offers RFID technology-based cards to visitors to allow them to play the games.

Chaya said that the cards are available starting at Rs 200 and more exciting offers are available for higher denomination cards.

He stated that this is the Valley’s first gaming facility, and offers a variety of gaming options to the children.

Chaya stated that children can reduce screen time with these games and still be involved with other kids when schools are closed.

On Monday, hundreds of children and their parents came together to enjoy the games.
