Karnataka CM visited rain-affected areas and promised help

On Sunday, Basavaraj Bommai (Karnataka Chief Minister) visited the rain-affected areas in Chikkaballapur District.

Unseasonal rains have caused 24 homes to collapse and 1 028 houses partial damageBommai stated that a compensation of Rs 5 Lakh would be given to anyone whose homes are totally damaged.In the wake of recent heavy rainfalls, Chikkaballapur-Colar district suffered severe losses in crop and house production.

A preliminary report has been prepared on the damage and an exhaustive report will be ready in just a few days.Bommai stated that the final decision on whether compensation would be paid will be made after receiving the complete report.

He stated that the Deputy Commissioner was instructed to immediately pay Rs 10,000 as compensation for houses damaged in part.To avoid flooding, he also gave orders to prepare a detailed project report for Rajakaluve construction from Kandavara water tank to Gopalakrishna tanks.
