Los Angeles, Aug 25 : The legendary tennis player John McEnroe wasn’t aware of Mindy Kaling until he was asked to narrate the song “Never Have I Ever’.The 63-year-old is the narrator of the popular comedy-drama series, however McEnroe was unaware of the show’s creator before he approached him to play the role, according to aceshowbiz.com.
In reminiscing about their first encounter at an Oscars event, John said, “I met her at this Vanity Fair Oscar party and we were just chatting and (my wife) Patty (Smyth) goes”Oh that’s Mindy Kaling””
“I was not even sure who it was and (Mindy)’s saying”Oh my God I’ve this notion of you as the narrator of this show and I’m like”Oh yeah, yes, you can.Of course, I’m going to be the narrator of this program.’ .Then”hey, it’s working! works!”
In contrast, Mindy’s dad was a huge supporter of John throughout his tennis playing career.The former tennis star revealed to Entertainment Tonight, “It turned out that her dad was a tennis enthusiast and probably often talked about me while she was growing as a child.”
In the last month, Kaling said that sees some of herself in her “Never Have I Never” characters.
