Srinagar 2 September : Syed Altaf Bukhari the President of J&K Apni party, said on Friday that a group of the party will invite Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to formally demand the restoration of the statehood of J&K.In a press conference on Friday, Bukhari said that when Apni party was created in March 2020, three things were top of its agenda:
“We demanded that the jobs in J&K are reserved to residents only. The second agenda item was that the land should only be owned by local residents.the third issue was that statehood should be restored.”
“With God’s grace of God we were able to complete two of the three promises we made.We were able to obtain an order from the government stating that jobs are reserved exclusively for the residents of J&K.”
“A minimum of 15 years is required for any outsider who wants to establish an occupant here.If an elected government is constituted by us, we’ll extend the time period required to be a residence for people from outside.”
“Land is protected to the tune of 95 percent while only 5 percent is available for buyers from outside and only for the purpose of establishing industries in the area.”
“For our third request for the restoration of statehood we have decided today to officially approach the Lieutenant Governor for the reinstatement of the status of a state.”
“Same demand will be officially submitted by the district committees, through the district development commissioners in charge”, Bukhari told the media.
He added that the Indian government of India is committed to restoring the statehood of J&K why should it be waiting for elections.
“If statehood is restored, how can this be done prior to conducting elections in this place?” Bukhari asked.
