Jayalalithaa’s heirs approach Chennai district Collector to obtain ‘Veda Nilayam’

Chennai, Nov 29, : Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J.Jayalalithaas legal heirs have sought keys to her residence Veda Nilayam’ from the Chennai District Collector.

Vijaya Rani, Chennai District Collector, stated that the state government would advise her on this matter.She also stated that the Madras High Court had given the siblings three weeks to surrender the property.

In 2020, the previous AIADMK-led state government took over the 24,322 sq.ft.house at Poes Gardens to create a memorial for Chief Minister.Madras High Court quashed the state governments decision.
