Japanese film ‘Ring Wandering’ get Golden Peacock at 52nd IFFI

Director Masakazu Kanekos Japanese movie "Ring Wandering" ("Ringu Wandaringu") won the top honour at the 52nd International Film Festival of India.

On Sunday, he was awarded the coveted Golden Peacock AwardThe Japanese film tells the story of an aspiring manga artist who, while searching bones that he believes will help complete his piece, finds war-time memories.The jury praised the film as a delightfully satisfying experience and noted that, although it sought to relive war-time memories it wasnt a war film.

Instead, it was a film about human relationships.Vaclav Kadrnka, a Czech-born UK director, won the Silver Peacock Award for Best Director.

Jitendra Bhikulal, also known as Constable Katekar in Marathi cinemas "Sacred Games", was proud to win the Silver Peacock Award for Best Actor (Male).He was praised for his portrayal of Nishikant in "Godavari", a Marathi movie.

It also earned Nikhil Mahajan a Special Jury Award.Rodrigo de Oliveira, a Portuguese filmmaker who made "The First Fallen", shared the Special Jury Award alongside Nikhil Mahajan.

The Silver Peacock Award for Best Actor (Female), went to Angela Molina, a Spanish actress, for her role as Charlotte.The Russian film The DORM/Obschaga by Roman Vasyanov received a Special Mention award from the International Competition Jury while Mari Alessandrini, an Argentine-born Swiss director, won the award for Best Debut Feature Movie of a Director.man/sr #Japanese #Golden #Peacock #IFFI.
