Washington, November 23, : , The launch of NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has been delayed once again due to an accident during preparations for its launch, according to the US space agency. NASA released a Monday statement that stated, “A sudden and unplanned release from a clamp band caused an observatory vibration as technicians prepared to attach the telescope” to the adapter for the launch vehicle.
Webb is secured to the adapter by the clamp band.
It occurred while operations were taking place at Kourou’s satellite preparation center in French Guiana.
This adapter allows you to connect the observatory and the upper stage on the Arianespace Ariane 5 rocket.
NASA stated that the launch date of the James Webb Space Telescope will be December 22, to permit additional testing and to address a recent issue during Webb’s preparations.
An anomaly review board led by NASA was formed immediately to examine the matter and to conduct additional testing to confirm that no components were damaged.
The statement stated that NASA and its mission partners would provide updates when testing has been completed by the end of the week.
Webb Space Telescope, an international collaboration with Canadian and European space agencies is a part of the International Partnership. There have been delays.
Webb’s launch was originally planned for March of this year.Due to technical difficulties and the effects of Covid-19, it was delayed to October.
NASA had confirmed in September that the telescope would be launched into orbit by December 18, according to its plans.
Webb will take off on an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe’s Spaceport, French Guiana.
This is on the northeastern coast South America. The Ariane 5 is provided by ESA.
This telescope will examine every stage of cosmic history, from the beginnings of our solar system through to distant galaxies that are still visible in the early universe.Webb’s discoveries will be unexpected and allow humanity to understand both the origins and the place we play in the universe.
