New Delhi, Dec 8, 2008 : .Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez will appear before the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday to discuss a money laundering investigation against Sukesh Chandrashekhar, a multimillionaire conman. As a witness in the case, she will record her statement.Fernandez was also questioned earlier by the ED in this particular case.
The questioning will take place at the MTNL Building in Central Delhi, where ED has an Office.The recording of her statement will be made by a woman official and five other people.
Fernandez was on her way from Mumbai to Delhi when she was stopped by immigration officials at Mumbai Airport on December 5.The authorities used a Look Out Circular (LoC), issued by the ED, to stop Fernandez because it feared she might flee the country.She was questioned at the Mumbai airport for several hours before being released.
Monday’s summons were sent by the ED to her to participate in the ongoing probe.
On Saturday, December 4, the Enforcement Directorate filed a chargesheet under the PMLA Act.It named Fernandez and a few other Bollywood actors as witnesses.The court had taken possession of the chargesheet and asked the agency for a copy to all the defendants.
December 13th is the next date in the matter of the charge sheet.
The matter was not discussed by the ED officials.
Jacqueline is not the only Bollywood actress to have recorded her statement as a witness in this case.
