Rome 11 August : Italian far-right leader Giorgia Meloni, who is a frontrunner in the November 25 elections recorded an audio message in three languages in an attempt to ease the concerns of what a victory for her Brothers of Italy (Fratelli dItalia) party could bring to the country.In three addresses in English, French and Spanish on Wednesday, the leader of the post-fascist group complained that the press around the world had depicted her as an enemy of the democratic process, Italy, Europe and the international community, as reported by the news agency dpa.
“I have been studying about the victory of Fratelli d’Italia in the elections in September could result in a catastrophe that could lead to an autoritarian change, Italy’s withdrawal from the euro, and other absurdities of this kind,” she said in the video she sent to journalists from around the world.
“None of this is true,” Meloni asserted.
According to polls Meloni’s political party is receiving the same level of support as of the League that is headed by populists of the far right Matteo Salvini, and Forza Italia (Forward or Let’s Go, Italy) of former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, when taken together.
The three parties have come together to challenge the elections and the political forces of the left and in the center are in turmoil.
Meloni also claimed that the left of being the cause of the country’s economic and social decline in the past 10 years.
