Due to a new Covid-19 variant, Israel bans foreigners from entering Israel

Jerusalem, Nov 28, : In an attempt to stop the spread a new version of Covid-19, the Israeli government banned foreign nationals from entering the country on Sunday.

The decision to close the country to foreigners will be made for 14 days.Xinhua reported that the phone-tracking technology would be used again to locate people who are obligated by quarantine.

Israel has confirmed one Omicron variant case that was first identified in South Africa.A list of 50 African countries has been designated "red" and prohibits Israelis from traveling to them.

Israelis who arrive from Africa are required to remain in quarantine.As a precautionary measure, all Israeli nationals who arrived from Africa in the recent days will be tested in the days ahead.

On Saturday, the Israeli military announced that it would distribute hundreds of home Covid-19 test kits to civilians returning from these countries.Quarantine hotels that were closed up until recently will be reopened "We are currently experiencing a period of uncertainty," stated Naftali Bennett, Israeli Prime Minister, at the beginning of the cabinet meeting.Bennett stated that his goal is to keep "an open Israel with an open economy and open education system.
