Israel announces the completion of a high-tech barrier around Gaza

Jerusalem, December 8, 2008 : Israel announced the completion a high-tech underground wall surrounding Gaza Strip in an effort to prevent militants from entering the country.

It also contains a maritime barrier that can detect infiltrations at sea as well as a remote-controlled weapon system.It spans more than 65 km and contains more than 140,000 tonnes iron and steel.
