Fatorda, Goa, Nov 28 : .Hyderabad FC scored a stunning comeback to beat Mumbai City FC 3-1 in their 2021-22 Indian Super League match at the PJN Stadium.

This was the first defeat of the reigning champions Mumbai City FC this season.

After HFC players failed in their attempts to clear the penalty area, Ahmed Jahouh (6′), opened the scoring for Mumbai with an impressive right-footed finish.Joao Victor (13’) brought the game to an even higher level by converting a penalty in calmness.

HFC took the lead after Bartholomew Ogbeche (53’) scored his first goal of the season in the match against his former team.Rohit Danu, 19, scored the third goal for his team.

Mumbai City FC made one adjustment to their starting line-up, with Mohammad Rakip replacing Vignesh Dakshinamurthy.Hyderabad FC brought in Joel Chianese, Aniket Jadhav and injured Halicharan Nazary to make two changes to their team.

The Islanders were all guns blazing, with Jahouh scoring the first shot on target.This was thanks to some poor defending by the opposition.

The Nizams returned to the game after Joel Chianese was fouled by Bipin Singh in the penalty area.

Skipper Joao Victor was not mistaken with the penalty and he lobbed it in the back of Nawaz’s net despite Nawaz correctly guessing.

HFC was denied the lead by Asish Rai, who made an important save a few minutes later.

Rahul Bheke had a great chance in the 27th minute to score, but his attempt from close range went sour.

Both teams entered the halftime break at level terms.

After committing a foul against Apuia after the restart, Hitesh Sharma was the first to be booked.Chinglensana Singh was also booked shortly after.Eight minutes into the second period, HFC’s second goal was scored by Bartholomew Ogbeche from close range.

This was after a great build-up play from the side.Jahouh was also cautioned for a poor challenge a few minutes later.

Des Buckingham sent Ygor Katatu from the bench to replace Cassio Gabriel after a series of adjustments by both camps.Manolo marquez made Rohit Danu debutant Aniket Jadhav, and Edu Garcia Chianese.

In the 78th minute, Rowlin Borges replaced Raynier Fernandes.He almost scored the equaliser.

Rohit Danu scored HFC’s third goal with a powerful right-footed, close-range shot after pouncing on another ball.This was Danu’s first goal in ISL.He repaid the gaffer’s faith in him.Catatau was given a yellow card for high-booting late in the contest.

HFC held their nerve throughout the game and won their first season-opening win.This was also their first win over MCFC.

Mumbai City FC will face ATK Mohun Bagan next Wednesday, while Hyderabad FC faces Jamshedpur FC Thursday.
