Iranian diplomat urges the US to lift sanctions in an effective manner

Tehran, November 26, : As the remaining parties to 2015s nuclear deal prepare to attend a meeting next week on the revival of the agreement, a senior Iranian diplomat has called for the US to lift sanctions in an effective and verifiable wayMohammad Reza Ghaebi (acting head of Irans mission to Vienna) stated that the US government must "stop violating its obligations pursuant to the agreement without any delay or precondition" in order for the current impasse over implementation of the 2015 nuclear accord.

Ghaebi addressed the Board of Governors of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and cited "the US violations of this agreement" and "the European countries’ unwillingness to condemn the.S.illegal withdrawal from the JCPOA, and the re-imposition of Sanctions against Iran" as the root causes of the impasse surrounding the historic agreement.He spoke out about the Vienna nuclear meeting and noted that "it is important that these efforts ensure that all sanctions are lifted in an effective, verifiable way".

He stressed that it is not reasonable to expect Iran to be more accommodating as long as sanctions remain in effect.Former President Donald Trumps US government withdrew from 2015s agreement in May 2018, and unilaterally imposed sanctions against Iran.
