Iran: US seeks a ‘new crisis in the region’ after fall of ISIS

Tehran, Dec 8, 2008 : Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has accused the US, state TV reported.He claimed that the US is seeking “a new crises” in the region following the fall of the Islamic State militant group.
Shamkhani stated that the US was very upset about the fall of Daesh in Syria and Iraq, as well as the victory by the resistance front.and was looking for a new crises,” Xinhua reported.

He warned that the US and Israel could create a security crisis for Syria, which could have dangerous consequences for the entire region.

Iranian security officials denounce Israeli airstrikes on Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon.They say “resistance is the only way to confront Israel’s aggression.”

Shamkhani praised the solidarity between Tehran and Damascus in terms of security and political relations, and called for the development of trade ties between these two countries.

Mekdad, for his part, thanked Iran for supporting the Syrian government and nation.He also said that bilateral cooperation had opened up after the defeat of terrorist groups sponsored by foreign countries and the establishment relative stability in the Arab state.

He noted that the US military presence in Syria violates the country’s sovereignty as well as its territorial integrity.

Since 2011, Iran has been a major ally in the fight against the armed rebels in Syria.
