Iran does not seek nuke weapons: FM

Tehran 8th August : Iran does not intend to obtain the possession of nuclear weapons, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian declared in a telephone conversation with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres."Nuclear weapons are not allowed in the doctrine of the Islamic Republic of Iran and are in contradiction to our beliefs and policies," Amir-Abdollahian was quoted on the ministrys website .

Concerning the ongoing negotiations in Vienna regarding the re-launch of the nuclear agreement of 2015, he said while Iran has been committed to reaching an "strong and solid agreement" however, the result of the talks is also contingent on Washingtons "willingness to reach an agreement" and the "necessary flexibility and realist approach in the actual." Amir-Abdollahian demanded the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to not politicize the technical aspects of Irans nuclear program in an effort to resolve any remaining issues related to the implementation of IAEA security measures in Iran.

A fresh round of talks to revive the nuclear agreement known informally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) started in Vienna on Thursday following the five-month gap.Iran has signed the nuclear agreement with the worlds powers in July 2015, committing to limit the nuclear program in exchange for the elimination of sanctions against the country.However the then US president Donald Trump pulled Washington out of the agreement.
