The national cricket board confirmed in October that Ahmedabad and Lucknow franchises would be included in the 2022 edition.This makes it the second edition of this lucrative tournament with ten teams.
In India, the 2021 IPL edition began.However, it was stopped midway through because of multiple Covid-19 cases within the camps of franchises.
