Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma shines in the one-sided match.
The defending champion Mumbai Indians have bounced back after losing to Chennai Super Kings in the opening match.
The Paltan has finally entered the path of success by defeating KKR with a margin of 49 runs. The match was one-sided as the men in black haven’t shown a fighting spirit chasing a high 196-run target in their opening match in IPL 2020.
Earlier, KKR won the toss and opted to bowl.Despite losing South African opener Quinton de Kock, MI started well with a blistering hitting by Rohit Sharma.
With Suryakumar Yadav, he powered a 90-run partnership in just 58 balls for the 2nd wicket. At some point, MI was looking to cross 200-run mark easily.
However, KKR’s bowlers bounced back and restricted the Paltan team to 195-5 in 20 overs.
The 2014 champions, KKR, looked strong on paper but the way they performed in their match was below par. They haven’t looked confident while batting.Except for Captain Dinesh Karthik (30 off 23) and Pat Cummins (33 off 12), no one passed 25 mark to help KKR.The hitman was awarded with Man of the Match for his brilliant 80 (54).
With this game, MI Indians registered the most wins against KKR in IPL history (20 wins).
This is the first defeat for KKR in their opening match of the IPL since 2013.
