We have already reported that Vishwak Sen will be seen as the hero in the acclaimed Malayalam romantic thriller ‘Kappela‘ which released this year.
Sithara Entertainments have bought the remake rights of ‘Kappela’ which marked the debut of Muhammad Musthafa as the director.The same production house has earlier remade ‘Premam‘ in Telugu and is all set for the remake of ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum‘ with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan.‘Kappela’ revolves around a phone call romance between an auto-rickshaw driver and a village belle who runs into trouble in the process of meeting him.
The latest we hear is that Naveen Chandra of ‘Bhanumathi Ramakrishna‘ fame has been roped in to play the other hero’s role in the film.He will be playing the role of the auto driver while Anikha Surendran, who was popular by the name Baby Anikha in Mollywood, will reprise Anna Ben’s role in the Telugu adaptation of this film.
Anikha Surendran is also a well-known face in Tamil film industry as she has acted in the role of Ajith’s daughter in Gautham Menon’s ‘Entha Vaadu Gaani’.Currently ‘Kappela’ remake is in the pre-production stage and the movie is expected to go on the floor in January 2021.
