New Delhi, Nov 26 : Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu defeated South Korea’s Sim Yujin 14-21, 21-19, 21-14 in a one-hour-and-six-minute match to enter the semifinals at the Indonesia Open in Bali on Friday.Sindhu will face Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon (the world No.8.Intanon beat Japan’s Asuka Tahashi 21-17, 21-12 to reach the quarterfinal.After the Indonesia Masters and French Open, this will be Sindhu’s third consecutive semifinal appearance.
Yujin was quick to the blocks and won the first game 21-14 in just 17 minutes.
Sindhu rallied in the second game to take a 14-7 lead.However, Yujin was able to hold her ground and ensure a close finish.
Sindhu eventually won it 21-19 to even the scores.
The decider saw the shuttlers battle it out in the opening exchanges.
Just after the half-way break, the score was tied at 11.Sindhu managed to find more gear and won the match.
After a difficult opening match against Aya Ohori, a Japanese shuttler, Sindhu defeated Yvonne Li of Germany in her second round match to reach the quarters.
