Indonesia Open: Indian campaign ends with Sindu’s defeat in semis by Satwik Chirag (Ld).

Bali, Nov 27, : Indias campaign in the 2021 Indonesia Open ended after PV Sindhu and Satwiksairaj Ranireddy, who lost their semi-final matches here on Saturday.

The 26-year old suffered her third consecutive semi-final defeat at a BWF event, following the French Open and the Indonesia Masters.It was also her third consecutive loss to world number 8 Intanon.

The reigning world champion shuttler began in full throttle, racing to an 8-3 lead quickly.Ratchanok made a comeback and continued to nibble at Sindhus lead in the match.

However, the Indian won the first game 21-15.Intanons powerful smashes combined with her clever net game helped her to respond strongly in the second match.

She seized the momentum and took an 11-7 lead at half-time.After the break, Intanon pressed for an even bigger advantage and cruised to a 21-9 victory.

Both shuttlers were neck-and-neck during the first exchanges.However, Ratchanok eventually took an 11-5 lead into the breather.

While Sindhu tried to close the gap, the Thai shuttler beat her opponent to win the match in 54 minutes.The second-seeded Ratchanok will now face An Seyoung from South Korea in the final.

Sindhu reached the final of the Swiss Open in March.She lost to Carolina Marin, her arch-rival.

Later in the day, the Indian duo of Chirag Shetty & Satwiksairaj Rankireddy lost to the top seeded duo Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo & Marcus Fernaldi Gideon of Indoesia.Chirag-Satwik, world No 11, lost 16-21, 18-21, in 44 minutes, ending India’s campaign at the Indonesia Open.
