India’s foreign currency reserves increase by $289 mn

Mumbai, Nov 26 : , India’s foreign currency reserves increased by $289 million in the week ending November 19.
The Reserve Bank of India reported that its forex reserves rose to $640.401 Billion from $640.112 Billion for the week ending November 12.

India’s forex reserves include foreign currency assets (FCAs), precious metals reserves, SDRs and the country’s IMF reserve position.

Weekly, FCAs, which is the largest component of forex reserves, edged up by $225 million, to $575.712 trillion.

The country’s gold reserves also increased by $152 million to $40.391 trillion.

The SDR value fell by $74 million, to $19.110billion, while the country’s reserve position at the IMF dropped $13 million, to $5.188billion.
