The Indian senior women’s soccer team leaves for Brazil to play in a 4-nation tournament

The Indian Womens National Team will depart Saturday to Brazil for the 4 nation International tournament.

There, it will face Chile, Brazil and VenezuelaThomas Dennerby, Head Coach of the team stressed the importance to put in three good performances and that it would allow them to assess themselves.This tour, and all that weve done in the last two months, is focused on the preparations for the AFC Womens Cup in January.

"It is about finding the right pitch, and then evaluating the performance in every area," Dennerby said before departing the team.We are playing three high quality matches now.The first against Brazil is important.Second game against Chile, and third against Venezuela.

Both are excellent teams, but theyre not as good as Brazil.He said that the most important thing was to return home with three solid performances, and not anything else.

It is the first ever time any Indian senior football team will face Brazil and it is exciting.Captain Ashalata Devi remained focused on the goals ahead.

The camp is full of energy because Brazil have a great football team.We also follow many of the Brazilian players.

It is a pleasure to face the Brazilians.They are a great team and we have a lot of lessons to learn.

She said that it was a huge motivation for us all.We also have our goals to achieve on the pitch and will do everything we can to meet them.She said that she always told the girls to be respectful of all opponents, regardless of their rank.But they should never fear anyone.

It will be 6th place that the Indian womens soccer team will visit this year.Over the past four months, the team was camping in Jamshedpur and received logistical and infrastructural assistance from the Government in Jharkhand.
