India’s women’s soccer team travels to Brazil for a four-nation tournament

The India women’s soccer team arrived at Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manaus on Monday in order to participate in the tournament that includes four nations.

India is ranked at 57 and will face seventh-ranked Brazil, World Number 37 Chile, on November 28, and World Number 56 Venezuela, on December 1We are extremely excited.Its something we never imagined, but it is now.It is simply incredible.Our coaching staff and the federation are so excited that they believe we can beat tough opponents like Venezuela, Chile and Brazil.

We will not hesitate and accept the challenge," Aditi Chauhan, goalkeeper, stated in a press release.This will mark the debut of an Indian team playing against Brazil, Chile and Venezuela at senior level.

The wmens team has played matches in Turkey and Uzbekistan as part of preparations for next years AFC Womens Asian Cup in Mumbai and Pune.For the last few months the team has been staying in Jamshedpur, where the Jharkhand government provides logistical and infrastructure support.
