Mumbai, Dec 8, 2008 : On Wednesday, the Indian cricket team announced their 18-member team for the 3-match Test series against South Africa that will begin on December 26.
Virat Kohli will be the captain of the team, but Rohit Sharma has been appointed vice-captain for the Test team.Under pressure, Ajinkya Rahane kept his place in the squad.
The Chetan Sharma-led selection panel also announced that Rohit Sharma would lead Indias ODI and T20I teams moving forward "The All-India Senior Selection Committee also voted to name Mr Rohit Singh as the Captain for the ODI & T20I team going forward," the BCCI stated in a statement.In the statement, it was also stated that Shubman Gill and Rahul Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill were unable to be selected due to injuries.They are currently undergoing rehabilitation.
