Suryakumar Yadav, a 29-year old cricketer has been selected to replace him in the India team.
In preparation for next month’s series against South Africa, Rahul (He) will be receiving rehabilitation at NCA.”The All-India Senior Selection Committee named Mr Suryakumar Yadav KL Rahul’s replacement,” said the BCCI in a statement.
Recently, Rahul was able to regain his place in Test cricket in England.

Suryakumar has been selected as Suryakumar’s replacement in New Zealand for Tests.He has not played red-ball for India since 2009.Suryakumar was an unexpected addition to India’s Test team that had visited England earlier in the year.
Suryakumar, a 31-year old middle-order batter, has been an important player in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy run.Suryakumar scored 508 runs over ten innings in the latest first-class season in 2019-20.His average run was 56.44, and his strike rate was 95.13.He also had two hundred and two fifties.
It is possible that Suryakumar Yadav or ShreyasIyer will be making their Test debuts and will bat in the middle order of the Test.Although Young Shubhman Gill had been expected to bat in middle order, Rahul is not available so Mayank Agarwal and Shubhman Gill will likely be opening for India.
India is without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the first Test, with Ajinkya Rahane as the captain.In the second Test at Mumbai, Kohli will lead the team.It starts on December 3.
