The 26-year old achieved the milestone by causing Shubman Gill to stumps on day three at the Green Park Stadium.

Jamieson broke the previous speedster Shane Bond’s record of 12 Tests to reach the mark in 2001.

“Incredible for Kyle.He has exploded onto the scene. It’s difficult to continue in that way when you start so well. But he has.He has played against some very good sides, including India, England, Pakistan, and West Indies. He is just doing his job.It is an amazing start to a career that hopefully, from New Zealand’s point of view, will last a long time,” Doull said in a video released by New Zealand cricket (NZC), on Sunday.

Doull is currently commentating on Test One.He feels Jamieson’s pace and bounce have filled in the gap for the New Zealand pace attack.

“I think he’s added a great aspect to an already very, very strong New Zealand bowling attack. It was possible that something was missing from the Southee/Boult-Wagner combo.

“I know Colin de Grandhomme did an excellent job.But Kyle creates bounce and unsettles batsmen. He hits them on the gloves.(And) he has the swing to match it.”

Overall, Jamieson is the fourth bowler to reach the mark in the 21st Century after Vernon Philander (South Africa), Ravichandran Ashwin from India and Yasir Shah of Pakistan.

“The achievement itself, Vernon Philander in seven test matches has been more successful since the 2000s than Vernon Philander. He has now beaten Ravichandran Ashwin and Yasir Shah, who are both well-known for their greatness. He’s up there with them,” said Doull, who represented New Zealand at 32 Tests.

The 52-year old signed off believing that Jamieson’s best days are yet to come.

“His longevity and fitness should continue to improve.

I believe there is more to come and that his abilities will improve, which is scary for many people around the globe. The achievement is amazing, and it was already possible from New Zealand’s perspective.

It bodes well for at most the next few years.
