Kanpur, Nov 28, : India wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha stated that he was happy to help the team during the ongoing Test against New Zealand at Green Park Stadium on Sunday.
The 37-year old, who couldn’t keep wickets on Day 3, due to stiff neck, played a solid innings (61 not out), and impressed everyone with his fighting spirit.

Saha had to change his batting position due to pain in his neck.He also needed physio during breaks to check his condition.

However, he continued to bat and put India in control on the penultimate day.

VVS Laxman, an ex-India cricketer, also praised Kanpur’s wicketkeeper fighting fifty.

“Wriddhipops has had a great half-century.To overcome a stiff neck and show determination and fight is a reflection of the true character this champion player.

Keep it up Wriddhi @NZvIND,” tweeted Laxman who worked closely with Saha at Sunrisers Hyderabad during the IPL.

New Zealand was 4/1 at stumps during day four of the ongoing Test against India.New Zealand have just one day to go before the match ends and face a daunting task of making 280 runs, with nine wickets remaining.
