Ranjan Madugalle, chief match referee at the International Cricket Council, will officiate in LPL

Colombo, Nov 23, : The second edition of the Lanka Premier League 2021 is being officiated by a highly respected Match Referee Panel consisting of Ranjan Madugalle, Chief Match Referee of ICC, and Kumar Dharmasena, ICC Elite Panel Umpire.

Madugalle is a member of ICCs elite panel of match referees.He has refereed in eight ICC Cricket World Cups including the finals of 1999 and 2003.2015, 2019, and the recently conducted ICC Mens T20 World Cup.Wendell Labrooy (who are members of the International Panel of ICC-Match Referees) will join him.Manoj Mendis is a First-Class match referee from Sri Lanka and will also join the Panel of LPL Match Refees.Kumar Dharmasena, a member of ICC Elite Panel of Umpires has won the ICC David Shepherd Trophy as Umpire of Year in 2012 and 2018.

Dharmasena, Raveendra Wimalasiri and Lyndon Hannibal will join him, as well as Prageeth Rambukwella and Ruchira Palliyaguruge who are all members of the ICC International Panel of Umpires.They will be joined by Deepal Gunawardena and Hemantha Botheju as well as Keerthi Bandara and Asanga Jayasuriya.

The Lanka Premier League will begin on December 5, and will be played at RPICS, here.After that, the league will move to MRICS Hambantota to determine the knock-out stage.
