Chattogram (Bangladesh), November 30 : .Pakistan’s Abid Ali joined the elite club for batters who have reached a century and 90 in the Test match.However, he was disappointed to miss out on a second wicket in Chattogram, Bangladesh, on Tuesday. Abid Ali scored unbeaten runs of 113 and 91 runs in the first innings.
“I was happy that Pakistan won, but disappointed that I didn’t get the second century.I was trying to stay at wicket and form a partnership with Shafique.Abid Ali said that Abdullah Shafique played really well and would tell me when I made mistakes.”
This win gave Pakistan a 1-0 lead in the series.Babar Azam, the Pakistan captain, praised Ab’d Ali for his efforts.
Azam stated after the match, “I am happy with the way he (Abidali) built his innings, and he will only continue improving, also the manner Abdullah played.
They will make a great opening pair,”
“The way they played after their first session.but we returned well the next day and that is what Test cricket is all.You have the time to make a comeback.We need to be more consistent in our bowling when there is a partnership.
We had only two days to prepare for the test, so we didn’t have much time.But, we are professionals and must be prepared,” Azam stated.
After fine half-centuries from Abdullah Shafique and Abid Ali, Pakistan won the opening Test by eight wickets against Bangladesh.
Although Bangladesh took two wickets of overnight batters Abid Ali (91) & Shafique (73) midway through the morning session they needed a miracle to win the fifth day.Babar Azam (13 runs not out) was joined by Azhar Ali (24 runs not out) to complete the morning session.This helped Pakistan take a 1-0 lead over the two-Test series.
