Tegucigalpa : , Hondurans went to the polls to elect President and legislators, as confirmed by the National Electoral Council. Nearly 5.2 million Hondurans can vote and elect the President, three Vice presidents, and 298 municipal mayors.
CNE President Kelvin aguirre stated, “I hope that we vote in peace.
International observers and local authorities attended the ceremony, as well as strong police and military presences.
During the election, security will be provided by approximately 30,000 members of both the Armed Forces (Armed Forces) and the National Police.
The CNE established approximately 5,700 voting centers in Central America.
Ana Paola Hall, CNE Councilor, announced that preliminary results would be transmitted on a gradual basis.
