Chennai, Nov 28, : Schools and colleges in Chennai declared a holiday Monday following incessant rains in many parts of the districtThe order was issued by Dr Vijayarani (Chennai District Collector).

Nagar has seen heavy rains that have caused waterlogging.Water gushed into many residences making it impossible for residents to stay on the lower floors.Many have moved to the upper floors.
Many houses with only one floor are unlivable and many have moved to hotels or to the homes of close relatives.Chennai is experiencing traffic problems after many roads and subways were shut down.M.K., Chief Minister Stalin visited Ganapathy Nagar, Thirumullaivoyal, and distributed relief materials to the people.He also visited other rain-affected areas of the city.
Around 700 people were moved to relief camps in Chennai, and 392 streets in 108 neighborhoods were inundated.Selvaraj, a Ganapathy Nagar resident, stated that this is a recurring phenomenon that has not changed one morning.
Water-logging must be addressed on a war footing.If the government doesnt do it properly, it will make it difficult for residents to live here.
