After assurances from Admin, Hindu Rao resident doctors have resigned from strike

New Delhi, Nov 30, : The strike by the resident doctors at Delhis Hindu Rao Hospital was suspended Tuesday after they received an assurance from the hospital administration that salaries would be paid promptly and that other demands would be considered.

Two months of salaries have been paid by the hospital authorities to the doctors - September and Oct.They were assured that they would receive the November salary by mid-December.IANS spoke to Dr Tanuraj Tyagi, president of the Resident Doctors Association (RDA).

He said that he had not called off the strike, but that he had suspended it after receiving assurances from the administration that they would meet all our demands.He stated that the hospital administration had held a meeting with the union representatives and the administration agreed to investigate the grievances as soon as possible.

Doctors have been assured by the hospital administration that an office order for a revised DA will go out in December.It will be implemented starting July this year.

"Efforts will also be made to release the November salary as soon as possible.The hospital administration released a statement saying that arrears for the pending HRA/DA will also be paid at once.
