Heavy rains are lashing out in Hyderabad.In this context, the Hyderabad meteorological department has issued a red alert.

The Met dept said that Hyderabad would receive heavy rains for the next eight hours.

The Meteorological department issued a red Alert for Medchal, Malkajgiri, Rangareddy Sangareddy, Yadadri and Medak districts.

It has been raining continuously in Hyderabad since Wednesday evening and the floodwater stagnated in many parts of the city along with the Musarambagh Bridge on Wednesday night.

Drainages overflowed in Patel Nagar, and Prem Nagar colonies and the rainwater entered into houses in Ramantapur due to heavy rains.Roads in Hyderabad inundated by rainwater.

Hyderabad received heavy rainfall this year.Uppal recorded the highest rainfall of 21.2 cm., Abdullahpurmet received 20 cm, Vanasthalipuram received 19.2 cm, Hastinapuram received 19 cm and Pedda Amberpet received18 cm of rainfall.

Also, Saroor Nagar received 17.9 cm, Hayatnagar received 17.2 cm, Ramantapur received 17.1 cm, and Habsiguda received 16.5 cm of rainfall.Authorities advised people in the low-lying areas to be vigilant.

The state govt is carrying out rescue operations in submerged LB Nagar and Uppal areas.

Ponds in the Yadadri zone of the Bhuvanagiri district are overflowing with floodwater.

The Meteorological Office said that heavy rains are likely to lash out in many parts of Telangana today as well.
