HC is unhappy about Delhi’s dengue cases.

New Delhi, November 23, : Tuesdays Delhi High Court expressed dissatisfaction with the Delhi Municipal Corporations for failing to contain the increasing dengue fever cases.

The court also requested that the civic body file an affidavit describing the actions taken to stop the rise in vector-borne disease.According to the court, it would hear dengue issues on December 1st.The Delhi High Court filed a complaint on November 9 by the petitioner who was suffering from dengue.It sought to have the Delhi Municipal Corporation and the City Government respond with an action plan for controlling the outbreak of dengue in Delhi.

Petitioner claimed that the spread of the disease is due to inaction on the part of the respondents.It was argued that the Delhi Government and Municipal Corporations have an obligation to prevent dengue epidemics.

They must conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns and regular fogging.Teams will inspect the premises for dengue larvae and can levy fines and provide numbers for dengue helpline.
