Harmanpreet is hopeful of IPL for women after being named WBBL player-of-the-year

New Delhi, Nov 24, : Harmanpreet Kaur, Indian womens cricket captain for T20I, hopes that her blitzes at the Womens Big Bash League(WBBL), will be a stepping stone to the establishment of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for women.

All the rest are completely dependent on the BCCI.We cannot do anything extra, but we can request, and thats what our team has done for many years.They know more than we do.They know when and how to start," she said.Harmanpreet scored 399 runs in the tournament, an average of 66.50 runs and a strike-rate of 135.25, which included three match-winning halves.She was not only Renegades top run-scorer but also their top wicket-taker, taking 15 wickets at an economy rate 7.46.Harmanpreet is now the third international player to be named WBBLs tournament player of the Tournament after the New Zealand duo Devine (twice), and Amy Satterthwaite.Since Harmanpreet became the first Indian woman to play in the WBBL and Super League in England, Harmanpreet has been a pioneer in Indian womens cricket.

With her WBBL achievements, Harmanpreet hopes to inspire the next generation.She said that playing in any tournament will boost your confidence and WBBL is a great platform back home "Every Indian wants the chance to play in this league, and I was the first to get this chance to play, and today, youll see that winning the player of the tournament definitely gives confidence to Indian girls.
