Gurugram Regional Transport Authority officials seized 200 buses that were operating without permits and collected Rs 50 lakh in fines during a special operationWithin two weeks, the RTA officials from six different teams took away and issued a fine.
Six teams of inspectors have been created to inspect these buses.From 200 buses, an amount of Rs 50 lakh was recovered so far."The campaign will continue in future," Virender Singh (Secretary, RTA), Gurugram, stated.Officials stated that the department is taking steps to prosecute violators.
They also have the resources and equipment necessary for checking overloaded vehicles and those polluting.
Six teams have been formed for this, out of which three teams check private buses during the day and other three during night.In Gurugram, apart from the government buses, private buses are being operated on most of the routes.
The department has also seized 17 diesel vehicles causing pollution in the city.All these vehicles were plying on the road even after more than 15 years.
