Rajnath: Govt wants healthy debate in Parliament

New Delhi, Nov 28, : On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the government wanted healthy discussion in Parliament.
Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Parlimary Affairs, spoke in his opening address about the upcoming session that will begin on Monday.

Joshi stated that the government is always available to discuss on the House’s floor any matter as allowed by Rules of Procedure.

He also asked all parties to cooperate for smooth operation of the House.

After listening to all the leaders, Defence Minister Singh addressed the meeting and stated that the discussion was very healthy and that important issues were being raised.

He observed that parties had called for more discussion in Parliament.

In response, he said the government also wants to have healthy discussions in Parliament.

Joshi informed all political party floor leaders that there will be 19 sittings over the course of the session, spread over 25 days.

Joshi stated that 37 items, including 36 Bills and one financial item, were tentatively identified as being taken up during the winter sessions.

Three bills are required to replace ordinances, namely the Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances (Amendment), Ordinance 2021, Central Vigilance Commission(Amendment), Ordinance 2021 and the Delhi Special Police Establishment, (Amendment), Ordinance, 2021.

These Bills must be enacted as Acts by Parliament within six weeks of the reassembly.

The meeting was attended by Rajnath Singh, Commerce minister Piyush Goyal, and Joshi.

Ministers of state for parliamentary affairs Arjun Ram Mahewal and AV.Muraleedharan was also present at the meeting.

Thirty parties, in addition to the BJP, were present at the meeting, including Congress, DMK and Trinamool Congress as well as Congress, DMK and Trinamool Congress.
