Govt to present a bill to repeal farm laws in LS today

New Delhi, Nov 29, : Monday’s Lok Sabha session will see the government table “The Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021” to complete the constitutional provisions that would repeal three farm laws.Narendra Singh Tomar, Agriculture Minister, will present the Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021 to the Lower House.
The Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021 will repeal three farm law — the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020; the Farmers’ Produce Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act 2020; the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act (2020); and to amend the Essential Commodities Act (55).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the constitutional process for repealing these laws would be completed by the Parliament Session, which will begin at the end this month.

“It seems that some farmers are still not convinced of our sincere efforts.We have decided to repeal three farm laws.”The constitutional process to repeal these laws will be completed during the Parliament session that would begin at the end of the month,” the Prime Minister had stated.

The Union cabinet approved the ‘The Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021’ last week.

The three farm laws were approved by Parliament in the monsoon session of last year.

Mansukh Mandaviya, Health Minister, will also introduce “The Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulation Bill, 2020”.

The Bill regulates and supervises assisted reproductive tech clinics and assisted technology banks.It also prevents misuse and promotes safe and ethical practice in assisted reproductive technologies services.

Pratibha Singh (Mandi Himachal Pradesh) & Gyaneshwar Patel (Khandwa Madhya Pradesh), will take the oath.On the death of former members, obituary references will also be made.
